Governing and qualifying organisations

South African Iron and Steel Institute - The South African Iron and Steel Institute (SAISI) is a non-profit, pro-competition and non-governmental representative organisation serving the collective interests of the primary steel industry in South Africa.

South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering - SAIMechE exists to serve the interests and needs of its members, to advance the science and practise of mechanical engineering, and to promote high standards in the profession.

South African Association of Consulting Engineers - Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA) aims to be the ‘Proud Voice of Consulting Engineering in South Africa’. CESA represents for its members, a body that promotes their joint interests and, because of its standing, provides quality assurance for clients. Over 480 firms employing just over 22 000 staff, who collectively earn a total fee income of almost R17 billion per annum, are members of CESA. CESA is committed to the principles of sustainability and the promotion of engineering excellence.

Institution of Municipal Engineering in South Africa - The Institute of Municipal Engineering of Southern Africa (IMESA) promotes the interests of municipal engineers and their profession, and creates a platform for the exchange of ideas and viewpoints on all aspects of municipal engineering with the aim of expanding the knowledge and best practices in all Local Government municipalities.

Electrical Contractors Association of South Africa (ECA-SA) - The Electrical Contractors’ Association of South Africa (ECA(SA) is an employer organisation registered in terms of the Labour Relations Act. The ECA(SA) is a non-profit entity focusing on service the industry and only generates funds to sustain it.
